  • 2 pounds pork shoulder, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Skewers (wooden or metal)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, olive oil, garlic, black pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, and salt.
  2. Add the cubed pork shoulder to the marinade and ensure all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated pork onto skewers.
  5. Grill the skewers for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally until the pork is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  6. Remove from grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add your choice of vegetables to the skewers such as bell peppers or onions.
  • Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before use to prevent burning.
