A delightful berry custard pastry that is simple to make and delicious to enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mixed berries
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package pastry dough

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Roll out the pastry dough and place it in a tart pan.
  3. In a saucepan, combine the mixed berries, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and cornstarch.
  4. Cook over medium heat until the berries are soft.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg yolks, and 1/4 cup of sugar.
  6. Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring until it thickens.
  7. Remove from heat, stir in the butter and vanilla.
  8. Pour the custard over the pastry and top with the berry mixture.
  9. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon to the berries.
