Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Chinese rice wine
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, rice wine, five-spice powder, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Add chicken thighs to the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Place chicken on a baking sheet lined with foil.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, basting with marinade halfway through.
  6. Remove from oven, let rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, grill the chicken after baking for a few minutes.
  • Serve with steamed rice or noodles.
