  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; beat for 2 minutes on medium speed of mixer.
  4. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour evenly into prepared pans.
  5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  6. Let cakes cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, spread raspberry filling between layers and on top.
