Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Cook until the chicken is cooked through, about 20 minutes.
  3. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  4. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir into the sauce and cook until thickened.
  5. Add the chicken back to the pan and coat with the sauce. Drizzle with sesame oil before serving.

Notes

  • Serve over rice or noodles for a complete meal.
  • Adjust the bourbon to taste, or replace with additional chicken broth for a non-alcoholic version.
