  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 package cream cheese (8 oz)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and stir in granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture.
  5. Spread half of the brownie batter in the prepared pan.
  6. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over the brownie layer.
  7. Dollop the remaining brownie batter over the cream cheese layer and swirl gently with a knife.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before slicing into squares and serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add chocolate chips to the brownie batter.
