  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, turkey bacon, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Add the onion, carrots, and celery to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
  7. Pour in the red wine and beef broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  8. Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the skillet and let them simmer in the sauce for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  9. Serve the meatballs warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding fresh herbs like parsley or basil to the meatball mixture.
  • Pair these meatballs with pasta or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
