Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground turkey
4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 large egg
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups red wine
1 cup beef broth
1 onion, diced
2 carrots, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, turkey bacon, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through.
While the meatballs are baking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the onion, carrots, and celery to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
Pour in the red wine and beef broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the skillet and let them simmer in the sauce for an additional 10-15 minutes.
Serve the meatballs warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding fresh herbs like parsley or basil to the meatball mixture.
Pair these meatballs with pasta or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
