- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups red wine
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- In a bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add meatballs and brown on all sides.
- Remove meatballs and set aside. In the same skillet, pour in red wine and add crushed tomatoes and oregano.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer and then return the meatballs to the skillet.
- Cover and cook on low heat for about 45 minutes, until meatballs are cooked through.
