These red wine braised meatballs are full of deep flavor and are easy to prepare, making them the perfect addition to your dinner table.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 1 can (15 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until browned.
  5. In a large pot, sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
  6. Add the red wine and crushed tomatoes, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  7. Add the meatballs to the pot and let simmer for another 30 minutes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, allow the meatballs to marinate in the sauce for a few hours before serving.
  • Serve with pasta or crusty bread.
