  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, sliced onion, garlic, and tomato paste. Pour over the roast.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  4. Once done, remove the roast and shred it. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry, then add it to the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
  5. Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and stir to combine with the sauce.
  6. Serve hot over mashed potatoes or bread.
